How to Use 3W Framework to Make Your X Profile Stand Out

Avoid this mistake to make a bad profile.

Hey friend 👋

Welcome to Creator Bullets #2.

Today's topic is how to build a well-crafted X profile that sells for you even while you sleep.

Your profile is how you introduce yourself to the world.

It represents your identity and showcases your skills and abilities that can help your followers. If someone is selling something, it's hard to trust them if their appearance doesn't match their product.

If you were to choose between two barbers, would you prefer one with relaxed hair or a bald one for your haircut?

Of course, the answer is the cool hair one. If he can make his hair look that good, he's probably capable of caring for yours.

Your homework shows your potential customers that you're trustworthy and reliable.

What are the frameworks for having a great X profile?

Use 3W frameworks to make your profile stand out:

  1. Who you are

  2. What you do

  3. Why people should follow you

There are five components on X profile that you can leverage to deliver your 3W messages:

  1. Banner

  2. Profile Photo

  3. Bio

  4. Link

  5. Location

Here, let's take a look at how Justin Welsh did it:

Now, you can see how he builds his profile to get people's attention instantly. Without actually browsing through his past tweets, by visiting his profile, I'd know quickly that he helps you start your one-person businesses and make a life that's yours.

Let’s break this down into 3W frameworks:

Who you are: Justin Welsh, a person who’s building one-person business.

What you do: Building his business to $10M in revenue

Why people should follow you: Because he shares everything he learns along the way and more than 215k readers have subscribed to his newsletter.

The banner represents the aspiration he's offering to his audience

His profile photo looks professional and confident, earning him respect.

The bio emphasizes what he's doing with a personal touch of "sharing everything I learn along the way" to make it sound humble and helpful to his audience by building his one-person business to $10M in revenue.

Lastly, he has a clear Call-to-Action on the link that asks his audience to join his newsletter with social proof of more than 215k readers.

Pro tips: Many people don't leverage the "Location" on the X profile section to use it as social proof to make your profile stronger.

Have you noticed that no single line on Justin Welsh's profile overlaps with another?

Every section supports each other.

This is a pro tip to make your bio stand out and seize every property effectively.

Follow these frameworks to get the profile you are most proud of and people understand.

Here are another great X profile examples that you can follow:

Let’s break this down into 3W frameworks:

Who you are: Dan Go, a high performance coach.

What you do: Helping 1 million transform their lives by 2027.

Why people should follow you: He tweets about health optimization, and more than 245k people have subscribed to his newsletter.

Here are my comments:

Banner: Tagline (High-Performance Journal) + Social Proof for his newsletter + Newsletter Schedule + Domain Name to Newsletter.

Bio: What he does (His mission is to transform people's lives through health optimization) + CTA for coaching calls.

Link: Private Coaching.

Location: It's redundant as it's already laid out on the bio line.

Let’s break this down into 3W frameworks:

Who you are: Ben Meer, The Systems Guy.

What you do: He helps his readers get the best personal growth systems, including health, wealth, and free time.

Why people should follow you: He graduated from Cornell with an MBA. He has a more than 2M audience and 270k subscribers to his newsletter.

Here are my comments:

Banner: Tagline (System Sunday) + Social Proof for his newsletter + one line to describe his newsletter + newsletter publishing Schedule + domain name to website.

Bio: His tagline is "The System Guy," which describes what he does (a system on health, wealth, and free time) and his credentials (Cornell MBA and 2M audience).

Link: His website.

Location: CTA to subscribe to his newsletter.

Here are not that good X profile examples:

I'll just be quick.

Do you know what's wrong?

Even though Rob Lennon has a great profile with more credentials, I couldn't help but notice that:

  1. He mentions 17+ years of experience in startup twice on the banner and bio line.

  2. He explains AI tips and business savvy on the banner twice and has similar phrases on the bio line.

Let's go to another one:

Do you know what's wrong?

Yes, he mentions what he does twice on the banner and bio line. It's a wasted property to leverage.

To summarize things up:

  1. Banner: sell aspiration, add social proof, and use it for credentials.

  2. Photo: make it professional and confident.

  3. Bio line: explain what you do and why people should follow you.

  4. Link: share your website, newsletter, courses, or coaching service.

  5. Location: use it for CTA to click the link or use it as social proofs.

Take your profile seriously to make your brand stand out. Make it as easy to understand your 3W: who you are, what you do, and why people should follow you.

That's all for today.

I look forward to seeing you again next week when we discuss more interesting topics about how the top 1% of creators and solopreneurs make their money.
